The hallway table.

As in all other places in the house, the composition of the hallway table changes regularly; a lamp, a vase, plates, prints or painting on the wall... (a large basket under the table with scarves and gloves for all family members during winter)

However, the yellow basket is always on the table and everybody throws in his or her keys, when entering the house.

year of the pineapple

2014, year of the pineapple!

Last week we found this pineapple lamp in Ghent.
We could not resist it and decided to take the showy table lamp along.
(with the consequence that my love has walked around all afternoon with a big carton)

The pineapple lamp is well worth dragging around, for we are very happy with the tasty shiny piece of fruit in the living room.
Pippa suggested that she would like to inherit the showpiece... sometime.

Today Henk came back from the market with a few bunches of orange ranunculus.

Well, a little orange in the house can't hurt...

ampersand & eek

I'm a fan of the ampersand and Piet Hein Eek.

The ampersand is cool and my favorite character, even if it is not a real character.

In HTML the & always looks a bit strange, with 'amp' stuck behind.

& about Piet Hein Eek:
Besides all the scrap wood designs, this table lamp is one of my favorites too.

The wire lamp with Italian silk tie shade is a stunning design and I'm not fan of neckties.
Never thought I ever could be so happy, accompanied by an orange dotted tie.

Yay! Sinterklaas is back in Holland.

The chandelier in the restaurant of Villa Augustus, we decorated with traditional chocolate letters (milk, dark and white chocolate) last week. Oh and watch out, if you can't resist to take a bite; the red ones are in vintage metal flavour.
