friday i'm in love
"I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's gray and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love"
Yes of course, today I wear it!

lazy summer day
Fortunately, summer is back! Today is the perfect day to get my hanging chair from the attic. Yesterday I suddenly remembered it, when Nina presented the Moroso chair and this is what I found at Anthropologie. I do not know if the anthropological summer egg is comfortable, it looks very inviting to me.
Since I've no appropriate tree to hang the chair, there is a swing hook screwed into the door frame. Just a perfect place for lazy summer day.

wood & wool stool meets household hardware
Approximately one year ago I met Anke of Household Hardware in her shop at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
After a few minutes there was a click and we had a nice conversation about stools & crochet & Morocco; our cooperation plan was born.
Household Hardware imports handmade stools of recycled wood from Marrakech and at that time Anke just started a crochet project with Moroccan women. What a coincidence! She suggested it would be great to produce my design of the traditional crochet cover for the wood & wood stool in Morocco. I made some samples in different colors in the most traditonal pattern and after one year of development, the stools are now available in the wholesale.
The large orders that are impossible for me to make myself, can now be processed.
The design seems to be a success and the stools have been purchased by several European shops in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Ibiza en London.
Meanwhile I have designed the prototype of a pouf, so the collection will soon be expanded.
Today I met Anke in the wholesale in Amsterdam and we are both very happy with the outcome of our cooperation.
I still continue to make stools in a variety of patterns and colors, as I have done so far. It always remains possible, to order a wood & wool stool in your favorite color and pattern. I've been inspired by this 'adventure' to design new stools and products.
By the way, Anke's beautiful (bed & breakfast) home Chambre Demi in Marrakech is featured in the June issue of Elle Wonen.

orange mood
The World Cup circus isn't exactly my cup of tea, but this dutch laundry brings me in the orange mood.

jackets on the hook
My anthropologie jacket is my favorite. No doubt! It was love at first sight. About the white dots & roses jacket I'm not fully convinced yet.
Doubt is never a good sign. The jacket is within the 'keep or return?' phase and I can still bring it back, so I ask you to give an honest Trinny & Susannah opinion.
I'm wondering wether I'm the only one having this 'problem' or it's just typical female insecurity.

book storage
Everywhere in the house there are piles of books and magazines. It seems every month rises a new one somewhere. On one of the many tables, desks, floors, benches, kitchen window sill and now even on chairs.
I'm not a fan of bookcases, except the vertical bookcase Sapiens designed by Bruno Rainaldi, the Letters bookshelf by Pieter de Leeuw or the Selfshelf by Skylla. However they do not offer too much storage space, which is not effective.
I remember a picture of books that were stacked on color on a huge table and it looked great. Maybe I should give it a try.

rokjesdag
Sitting on a sunny terrace in Amsterdam, I suddenly had to think of late Martin Bril. He's my favorite writer and invented rokjesdag.
Skirts days is that one day in spring all women (like magic) suddenly wear skirts, bare legs underneath. A dress is also possible, but no panties to the legs. That is deception.
Yesterday & today were typical skirts days in the Netherlands. A tribute to the creator of skirts days.

impressed
During our first joint garden sale, Yvonne and I have exchanged quite a lot of stuff (we're like little children), including a red plastic plate rack. I still haven't found a suitable place in my kitchen and tried if it could serve perhaps as a magazine rack.
I grabbed the stack interior magazines, where my work was featured in and created a wood & wool stool publication rack.
