Inspired by diamonds,
I first make rounds,
which I turn into squares
that ultimately together will form a bright wood&woolstool cover.

surprising
Early in the morning I got a surprise from Fermob.
A big box all the way from France.
A while ago I got an email from Emmanuelle of Fermob.
Because many of my [fermob] photos were featured on their website and casting campaign, I could simply choose which color Surprising lounger I would like to have.
Well choosing a Fermob color isn't that easy ...
I decided to choose linen.
The chair is now in the living room and the kelim pillow from Marrakech has found it's perfect place.
The industrial design of the chair and the traditional woven pillow are a striking contrast.
Merci beaucoup Fermob!
moroccan dinner at home
This was yesterday just before the guests arrived for a dinner at our home.
For the occasion my sweetheart prepared two tajines and some delicious Moroccan salads for his dear colleagues.
It has been a great evening, we had lots of fun and enjoyed the food.
There was plenty, so tonight we eat what's left.

After a few questions about the Moroccan basket on the cabinet, here's a look closer look at the shabby vintage bread basket from Marrakech.
I consider it an [art object] and the vivid colors have inspired me (think woodwoolstool cover...)

cabinet dance
The arrival of the super sofa in our living room, caused a true cabinet dance throughout the house.
The white cabinet (used to be Minne's changing table once) moved from our attic to the living.
The giant Moroccan tray - we bought years ago - was for a long time in an ungrateful spot.
Now it's back on the cabinet and is so cool with the vintage traditional bread basket we brought from Marrakech (used and a bit shabby). I fell in love with the beautiful harlequin diamonds and the bright colors.
The stool in the corner is my very first wood & wool stool.
What I really like about the 'new spot' in house are all the different patterns together; the tray, the basket, the herringbone floor and the crochet.

it's raining (cats &) dogs
A rainy picture of Lammie's shop window.
She changes her shop & shop window almost every week.
The cigale wall vase is from her shop and she has a few for sale.
This afternoon I did a mini photoshoot for her (Etsy) shop.

for april
[Month] names in English always sounds so beautiful. Like April and June.
When I started making stools, I decided to call the stools after their new owner.
This month I made two stools for April!
Ain't that funny?

[love] her!
The leftovers of pink rose tops at the end of the flower arranging lesson at school,
Pippa simply couldn't throw away and brought them home.
Result; many small pots with roses anywhere in the house (including the bathroom and of course Pippa's bedroom)
"Like Chambres d'Amis", she said.
That's my girl!

harira soup on the square
This last Marrakech post is about the delicious traditional Moroccan dishes we have consumed on the Jemee-el-Fna square. Here I am sipping my Harira soup.
The best thing about eating on the square, is that you sit down somewhere for a soup and have the next dish somewhere else. The restaurant stands are great to enjoy the Moroccan kitchen. The atmosphere is unique and we have had lots of food and fun on the square.
Marrakech, what a city! We will certainly return...
Oh and next time it's about wood and wool and stools again.
(the handmade woolen hat I've bought in the souk)

chambre 5
Each room in Chambres d'Amis is decorated quiet & stylish with a few Moroccan details (like the tadelakt walls), but especially with a good sense of humor.
The bathroom of our [chambre 5] is also 'in chambres d'amis style'... Love that plastic string around the towels.

moroccan wood & wool
In the middle of the souk suddenly appeared a wool heaven!
I chose a few of my favorite colors to take home.
The neon pink and orange brought a color explosion on the riad balcony.
(note the matching Bougainville)

le jardin - green oasis in the souk
Strolling through the souk, we were surprised by the fresh and elegant restaurant Le Jardin.
The young and charming owner Kamal Laftimi recently opened his third hotspot in the souk, after 'café des éspices' and 'terrasse des éspices'
Le Jardin is a green oasis in the souk. The interior is decorated by Anne Favier and the use of all shades of green is exciting.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch.
Kamal was riding on his bike through the courtyard and came to our table for a cozy chat.
The charismatic young man who grew up in Marrakech has the guts to start something else in the souk.
Côté Sud magazine was present at that moment for a photo shoot and we also did our petit photo shoot. The roof terrace has a wonderful view on the yard and beautiful murals. There are straw hats with crochet (talking about professional deformation) for everyone, in case the sun gets too hot.

souk scrubs
How can you choose?
I have brought a whole bunch of colored scrubs from the Souk.
A lovely souvenir for home and friends.
palais la bahia
Palais de la Bahia is located in the south of the old city of Marrakech.
The beautiful palace of the end of the 19th century has a splendid interior.
You find yourself in a Moorish fairytale. Inside the palace there are about 160 rooms with tile floors in beautiful patterns and some lovely patios.
The garden was a location for some film scenes of Lawrence of Arabia.

riad chill
Fairy tales do exist.
Chilling in the riad is a true relief after the complete chaos of the city.
Verveine or mint tea?

quatre nuits à marrakech
Here I am sitting, perfectly happy in the tasteful and stylish Moroccan house of my super sweet friend Ank.
The last four nights we stayed in her nextdoor riad Chambres d'Amis in the middle of the Medina.
The riad is an oasis of peace and quiet and indulgence!
Whenever we returned from the city, the square or the souk;
It's amazing to experience the contrast of the crowd, the colors, the scents in the Medina and the complete delight of Chambres d'Amis.
