Our first getaway abroad in 2022.

We started with coffee at Bar'rique in Berchem.

We went on a journey of discovery through the districts of Berchem and Zurenborg.

We walked across the most famous street of the Zurenborg district, the Cogels-Osylei, which is known for its art-nouveau architecture.

We had another coffee on the Dageraadplaats, the main square located in the center of the neighborhood, which is the almost completely lined with cafes and restaurants.

We had an appetizing lunch at Café Walvis and after that we headed for some serious street art near the Zomerfabriek.

Minne turned 30 today!

I can hardly believe it, how fast did that go?!

He is passionate sports journalist, a wonderful son, the dearest brother and also loving uncle of Liam nowadays.

30 years ago Minne was born and today there's another mini in the crib, the circle of life.

I crocheted a new harlequin pillow cover for our bamboo daybed and matched the colors to the (homemade) cushions, that I made from a Berber blanket some years ago. Look here.

Furthermore, the IFFR film festival started today and I sponsored the (online) festival by ordering a poster and beanie.

Day & night.

The new pendant light on the ceiling is an alluring wedding anniversary gift from Henk.
Made of terracotta, raffia and fringe, an unusual combination, which fits very well in our mix-don't-match bedroom style.
The light effect on the ceiling is surprising and phenomenal, it adds so much atmosphere.

Our bedroom has such a good vibe, day and night, it feels like a cheerful, comfortable and spacious hotel room.

noordermarkt rotterdam

Weekend!
We visited the Noordermarkt in Rotterdam Noord.
Made a citywalk.
The first day the shops opened up again after the lockdown, we only visited Kookpunt and bought a new cookbook, Comida Mexicana by Rosa Cienfuegos.
Thereafter we had a coffee to go at Hopper.
And found a lot of inspiration by walking through the streets of Rotterdam Noord.
